School’s out and life begins.
Bag in hand, headed for the train station.
There’s a wide world out there calling your name,
Just begging to be explored; its mysteries unveiled.

Money in hand, destination unknown,
Head spinning; daunted by the myriad options,
Each destination with its unique attributes and charm.
Feet moving in one direction, held back by tight purse strings,
Purse picks a place, but there’s no fun to be had there.
Oh to be young and free; life at your beck and call.

Finally, ticket in hand, luggage stowed away, all settled in your carriage,
And with a hoot and a toot, the journey begins;
Speeding past the streets of your childhood, leaving the familiar behind.
You sit and muse, hoping you picked the right path.
